Frequently Asked Questions

Most of our customers are, by their nature, discerning consumers. They want the best, so they understandably have many questions about our products and how they’re made. We’re always happy to answer inquiries.

  • Are all Chénger’s smoothies, juices, soups and baby food organic?

We use the freshest organic non-GMO produce when we make our soups, smoothies, juice and baby food so you can be confident in the healthfulness and safety of our products. We’re always transparent about our ingredients. If you ever have any questions, please send them our way.

  • Are the products in my Chénger’s order fresh?

Absolutely. Unlike other meal delivery services, our products don’t come off an assembly line. Every order is made in our kitchen with fresh produce immediately before it’s packaged in the highest-quality packaging (insulated boxes and frozen gel packs) and shipped to ensure your order arrives as fresh and temperature controlled as possible.

  • Are Chénger products low in sugar and sodium?

Absolutely. One of the core tenants of our foods and juices is purity of ingredients. We don’t add things like sugar or artificial sweeteners to our products. Natural fructose is already sweet enough if it’s not diluted with the additives and preservatives that are mixed in with the products you find on grocery store shelves.

If you are seeking foods or juices to accommodate an appropriate diet for diabetes or another medical condition, you should still carefully read the ingredients of the Chengers products you purchase. However, if you’re looking for a naturally delicious product without added sugar or sweeteners, you can’t go wrong with our juices or smoothies.

  • Do you use non-GMO produce?

Yes. We only source our ingredients from certified organic growers. We are always on the lookout for local farms. This is also why our menu changes throughout the year. We will not resort to GMO produce or settle for less-than-fresh ingredients, which means our offerings are generally seasonal.

  • Can you provide gluten-free or dairy free options?

All of our products are gluten free. If a smoothie or soup does contain a dairy product like yogurt or cream, those ingredients will be clearly listed before you make your purchase. The majority of our products contain absolutely no dairy, and none contain gluten.

  • Are your products nut free?

Completely. Many of our regular clients choose us because they have food allergies, including nut allergies. We are acutely aware of how serious nut allergies can be and go to great lengths to prevent cross contamination and ensure the purity of all the foods we ship.

  • Do you have vegetarian and vegan options?

The majority of our products contain no dairy or other animal products. If any of our soups are not vegan or vegetarian, they will be clearly labeled.

  • What are the stages meant to denote on your baby foods?

Babies need different foods and different consistencies as they reach certain milestones. The stages are based on consistency and flavor profiles.

Stage 1: First Food Singles (6+ months) are thin, single-ingredient purees.

Stage 2: Graduated Singles (6+ months) are slightly thicker single-ingredient purees.

Stage 3: Duos (7+ months) are two-ingredient blends designed for babies who are ready for a more varied and exciting flavor profile.

We encourage parents to experiment. Chéngers can be a great way to introduce picky eaters to additional flavors they may enjoy.

  • Do your juices, smoothies, soups or baby food contain any heavy metals?

The presence of heavy metals in baby food was one of the main motivating factors behind Chengers – so absolutely not. There is no reason for heavy metals to show up in food, especially food we’re feeding to babies. Our organic ingredients are carefully sourced and pure to ensure you know exactly what’s in all our products.

  • What safety assurances can you offer?

In addition to using fresh, organic, non-GMO fruits and vegetables, we also follow strict food preparation procedures to prevent cross contamination and follow stringent food safety and sanitation protocols. We priority ship our products in highly insulated packaging with ice packs to ensure a proper temperature is maintained throughout shipping, so products always arrive fresh and safe.

Dr. P started Chengers largely out of health and safety concerns for her son Che. Part of that had to do with the safety of the food available in grocery stores. We’re acutely aware of the food safety concerns of our customers (especially those with food sensitives or allergies) and go the extra mile to prepare and ship only the safest products.

  • When will my package ship and be delivered?

We always notify customers when their packages are shipped. They generally arrive between Monday and Saturday by 9 p.m. You will be provided with a tracking number so you can keep track of your order’s progress.

  • Where do you ship?

Anywhere in the contiguous United States. (We do not deliver to Hawaii or Alaska at this time.)

  • How do you keep soups, smoothies, juices and baby food fresh in transit?

We use insulated boxes, aluminum packaging and frozen gel packs to control the temperature in our packages for at least 72 hours. If you’ve received any other meal delivery services in the past, you’re likely already familiar with the type of packaging we use. Because our products do not contain preservatives, it is especially important that they are shipped at an optimally safe temperature and that you refrigerate your products as soon as possible once they arrive.

  • Are the jars, bottles or containers you deliver microwave or dishwasher safe?

No – we specifically do not use microwavable plastic due to the difficulty recyclers have with those materials. We place a priority on sustainability and environmental responsibility. As such, all our packaging is recyclable. Place soups and other foods in a microwave safe container prior to heating.

  • Is your packaging recyclable?

Yes – 100 percent recyclable. All our packaging is BPA-free, phthalate-free and toxin-free. Even our insulation is recyclable. The ice packs we send in our packaging are reusable.
